Hi! I’m Sammy. I am a queer fourth generation Japanese-Pacific islander from Hawaii and am now living in the beautiful central district. I am a resident artist at Change Magic Tattoo studio in Pioneer Square and I can’t wait to tattoo ya! 

Up until recently I was a public defender in Seattle and King County. I’ve always wanted to be a tattoo artist ever since I was in high school. I used to get in trouble for incessantly drawing tattoos with sharpie on my classmates. Integral to my identity is being a part of the struggle for the liberation of all oppressed people around this world that we live in.

As an artist, I strive to figure out ways to use my art to help fight for a world where everyone has everything they need. As a lawyer and a tattoo artist it’s my hope to one day be able to provide legal services as a movement lawyer to protestors in Seattle. Who says we can’t be multiple things at once? :D

The inspiration for my tattoos come from many places, the world around me, shadows, old books, Pinterest, other artists, and my noggin. Right now I only offer flash and don’t generally do customs primarily because my flash is designed in a way that aligns with my skills set as a tattoo artist. Customs sometimes fall outside of my wheelhouse and I want to make sure that you are getting the best tattoo possible.
